Closing Yellowstone roads

Just in case you live close enough to make a dash for the park before the snows pile up, you should know that all roads except the all-season one between the North and Northeast entrances will close to cars, trucks, and buses at 8:00 am Monday, November 2nd.
If you're thinking of a winter trip, the park reopens to snowcoach and snowmobile travel on Tuesday, December 15th. This gives the staff, facilities, and animals (but not the geysers!) a needed break and time to revamp for winter. You can make reservations for transportation and for the hotels at Mammoth and Old Faithful through Xanterra, at 866-439-7375 or at their new Web site: YellowstoneNationalParkLodges.com.
