Formed in 2000, this small company currently publishes Yellowstone Treasures: The Traveler's Companion to the National Park and Visiting Geyserland. Granite Peak Publications plans to publish revised editions of the guidebook once every three to five years. In addition, we consider publishing other books or monographs on subjects relating to the Greater Yellowstone area.

About the company name: Granite Peak is the highest mountain in the state of Montana, at 12,799 feet. The company owner, Janet Chapple, is a Montana native. Back in the early 1900s, her grandfather Fred Inabnit led climbing expeditions into Montana's Beartooth Range, where Granite Peak is located. Janet named her company to honor his memory.
